Rich Moffett has been a court reporter since 1978 in New York Family Court and worked in the New York State court system for 33 years until his retirement in January 2012.

For the first ten years as an Official Court Reporter, he worked in New York Family Court, New York Criminal Court, New York Supreme Court, and Nassau County Family Court. In 1989 Rich transferred to Nassau County District Court, where he worked for 23 years responding to numerous requests for transcripts, often the following day, archiving stenographic notes and transcripts, and keeping diligent records.

Attention to detail was paramount in preparing transcripts for judges, attorneys, and litigants alike. Transcript formatting, accuracy, timeliness, billing, confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism were important aspects that were attended to and have been ingrained ever since.

Upon retirement, Rich immediately opened Rich Moffett Court Reporting, Inc. at 114 Old Country Road in Mineola across the street from the Nassau Supreme Court.

Throughout our existence, our service geographical coverage continues to increase, covering assignments to the entire metropolitan area including the 5 boroughs Nassau and Suffolk county.
